The developer of this app, Taro Horiguchi, is a billiards enthusiast who has been playing Boulard for a long time. He recalls his first experience with the game, which was about two months into his billiards journey, shortly after purchasing his own cue.
Thinking that it would be easy to score 100 points since Boulard is different from 9-ball where the numbers matter, he confidently started playing. However, he ended up with a score of only 32 points. Despite his initial bragging, he remembers making up a vague lie, claiming to have scored over 50 points. If he had a time machine, he would go back and tell his past self, "Don't underestimate Boulard."
